A Guide to Living in Pitshanger

If you are looking for an award-winning High Street and a great community atmosphere, then look no further than Pitshanger!

Pitshanger (sometimes referred to as Pitshanger Village) is a small but busy local suburb centred around the 50 or so shops in Pitshanger Lane. It is located about 1 mile north of Ealing Broadway.

Pitshanger Transport Links

With a choice of underground stations and its very own National Rail link, the London Borough of Ealing is one of West London’s best-connected regions.

In total, the borough has thirteen tube stations, all of which sit in zones three to five, as well as several train stations on the Overground lines and Great Western Railway lines.

Ealing Broadway, the borough’s primary transport link, boasts regular services to the West, with trains running to Slough, Reading, Oxford, and beyond. The station is also served by a District and Circle line and a Central line link, offering swift services into the heart of London as well as Eastbound several times an hour.

Pitshanger Schools and Education

An impressive nine out of every 10 of our Ealing’s schools are now rated as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. Ealing falls in the catchment areas for several good private and state schools in Ealing, such as Notting Hill, Ealing High School, Twyford CofE High School, St. Benedicts School, Christ The Saviour Primary School and Montpelier Primary School.

Out and About in Pitshanger

The atmosphere on Pitshanger Lane is lively, bursting with a wide range of shops, restaurants, coffee shops and gastro pubs. For those looking for peace and quiet, the beautiful Pitshanger Park is on your doorstep. It is also home to the prestigious Brentham Club and Ealing Golf Club, for the sporty types.

Pitshanger Property

Pleasant leafy streets of terraced, semi-detached, and detached houses give the area a suburban feel. Toward Ealing Broadway, there are many older, grand looking Victorian houses. Ealing’s numerous green spaces mean lots of locals can find homes overlooking parks. Flats on the roads surrounding Ealing Common are particularly desirable. For apartment living, there are numerous period conversions and in recent years some high-rise contemporary developments have offered upmarket flats such as The Courtyard and Filmworks.
