Not only at Joseph’s behest but also stirred by a bursting heart, I would like to add my two-penneth of honeyed smarm to your already bulging sack of sycophantic fan-mail. But seriously, folks and poetic license apart...
For several years I have suffered abysmal service, broken promises and “Sorry, but’s” from one of the nation’s biggest and most respected letting agents. Then by a stroke of good fortune, in May this year I stumbled upon Gibbs Gillespie in Rickmansworth. Faced with another change of tenant and amid said most respecter’s doom struck mutterings about the funeral of the UK lettings market, I braved the ton of paperwork to convince myself that it was worth another try and to give your firm a shot at the title.
Oh happy day. Within 24 hours of the previous tenant’s departure and lacklustre tongue-clicking by the apology for a checkout clerk, Gibbs Gillespie (apparent winners of every property prize going since the dawn of time) swept in like a cavalry to the rescue, cameras a-snapping, and had my property on the market and phones ringing up and down the land. Within another 24 hours Gibbs Gillespie (apparent winners of every property prize going since the dawn of time) had netted me the perfect tenants at a very fair rent for both sides. Amazing work, guys.
So far it has not yet ended in tears, and shows no signs of doing so. From the word go, Gibbs Gillespie (apparent winners etc.) hit the ground running and have jumped on every little bleat and whimper from their pernickety new landlord with alacrity, enthusiasm and buckets of tolerance.
My thanks go out to big boss David (who suffered the first blast of culture shock when confronted with the German way of doing business), to movers-and-shakers Joseph and Barney (who had just ten days to turn a Bosnian refugee camp into something you could market in Belgravia - well done, lads), and last but not least to my property manager Nikki (who now holds the broom and wonders if it was worth the orchid ...). Oh yes, and thank you to my tenants, A and S, who had to move in while it all went on and can still manage a wan smile when I pull into their driveway.
Keep it up, guys, you’re worth every one of those property prizes!

I am writing in regards to the recent experience with Gibbs Gillespie. I secured a property (29 Coleridge Drive, Eastcote) with Chloe Reynolds at the Ruislip Lettings Office. Shockingly at the last minute on 16 November 2011 the Landlord pulled out of the deal 12 hours before we were due to receive the keys to the property. As you can imagine this was catastrophic as we had movers booked, utilities transferred into my name and furniture deliveries as well as many other medical and personal items to be delivered to property we were supposed to be moving into. I had the mammoth task of reversing all the above.
On the 17th I contacted Pinner Lettings and explained the situation to Jack Carrol, who immediately booked and allowed me to view 2 properties. One of which we secured with him and are moving into on the19th November.
I understand the situation was very misfortunate and frustrating, however I have taken the time to highlight how attentive, professional and wonderful Chloe Reynolds has been throughout this process. She is a true asset to Gibbs Gillespie. I would also like to applaud Jack Carrol and Anand Popat for their immense hard work in processing cleaning teams, paperwork and our move within 48 hours. Between Chloe, Anand and Jack they all managed to transfer funds, complete paperwork and submit all the details from one office to another in outstanding speed. Without them we would have had to book into a hotel room.
In a world where only complaints are highlighted, I felt the need to address how outstanding your team has been on this occasion and delivering excellent service during a crisis situation.
I am very thankful to Anand, Jack and Chloe for their excellent work and will highly recommend them both in the near future.

When we started to look for a place for Jurgen to stay it was rather stressful as we were coming from Ireland and unsure of the procedures in England. I must say that Mark and Zia (Harrow) were extremely helpful and courteous from the outset. It was quite complicated with the referencing etc which we were unaware of and therefore not sure what to do. Mark organised everything extremely quickly and efficiently to make it as easy for us as possible and we are very grateful for all his help and expertise. We are also delighted that the agency are managing the property should there be any problems and indeed they were quick to sort out an initial problem with plumbing.
The agency rightly deserves the awards it has achieved and we are very impressed with the help we received. As Jurgen will be there for three years we will probably need more help with renting and if we ever decide to purchase somewhere in England we would be very happy to call upon Gibbs Gillespie again and would have no hesitation in recommending the agency to others.

On becoming a landlord for the first time last year, I cannot praise Gibbs Gillespie (Rickmansworth) highly enough for all the assistance they gave me. They were with me every step of the way, offering advice, assistance and helpful suggestions to successfully letting my property. Being a ‘rookie’, I called them from time to time, with what must have seemed daft questions, but they always made time for me and answered my queries. Within days of marketing my property, they found a suitable tenant and advised me how to do a professional check-in. At the end of the tenancy, once again they were there to help me with the check-out and when asked, provided the name of a company to do an end of tenancy clean, which I have to say was excellent.
To find a suitable new tenant took a little while, but during the process they kept me informed of developments on a daily basis, so much so, that they feel like old friends now, although they always maintained a professional approach. They have now managed to find me an A* tenant. I would never consider using anyone else whilst they maintain such a high standard.

I first used Gibbs – Gillespie when I was putting my flat on the market after previous Estate Agents I had used didn’t live up to expectations. Since day one I knew I had found a ‘great’ Estate Agent and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others.
Within one week of me going into them they had my flat advertised and were busy arranging viewings. Not long after they soon found a prospective tenant (for the agreed price per current month) who within one week of my old tenant moving out the new one will be moving in.
Everything was professional and efficient in the way they handled me as a new client to my flat, the marketing and to the new tenant, they gave me advice on the tenancy laws and conditions and agreed to do a full inventory with the new tenant on their moving day.
The biggest thing for me was that from the beginning I felt I could trust them, which is a rare thing with Estate Agents. If I had been dealing with one colleague and they happened to not be in the office that day another other staff member could pick up from where they had left off and knew everything about the flat I was advertising with them and whom I was, this is a truly good service to offer.
All the staff I dealt with were knowledgeable, professional at all times and gave good advice, even assisted me in recommending a cleaning company they use and within 30 minutes someone from that company had called me and arranged a date, the whole experience was easy, simple and straight forward.

In particular, we chose to use the Gibbs Lettings dept as Anand Popat came across as such an honest, experienced and polite professional. My wife and I have now let our last 4 properties between us from Gibbs Gillespie - in the most part this is due to the impeccable level of service we have received from the lettings team at Gibbs, Uxbridge. This occasion was no different and Ro has been extremely professional throughout.
An instant rapport was formed between the parties involved due to Rohit's friendly & courteous nature and the obvious interest and enthusiasm to find the right property for us. An example of this is touching base with us while on holiday in America (at our request!) to inform us of the latest properties and developments while we were away. We were by no means the easiest couple to find a property for, with unreasonably high standards for the budget we had, however Ro stepped up to the challenge and showed and willingness to provide exactly what we were looking for. Great patience was needed and Ro showed this in abundance without ever giving the impression of annoyance.
Such good service was offered by Gibbs, and in particular Rohit, that my wife and I didn't want to move into a property that wasn't advertised by Gibbs. I would highly recommend this branch, along with Rohit, to anyone looking to rent within the Uxbridge/Hillingdon area. My family are extremely happy with the property we have ended up in and if we need to move again in the near future will definitely come to Gibbs Gillespie first.

I would like to personally give you some positive feedback on two of your staff members, Nicola Martin & Andrew Pearce (specifically Nicola). Both Nicola & Andrew have been dealing with an issue at my property where my ground floor property has had visible signs of Subsidence to the Superstructure. They have been dealing with the Block Management Agents and an independent surveyor for the past 1 year. Nicola really took her initiative to another level today, actually she went beyond my expectations, and challenged the independent surveyor with regards to the buildings insurance excess. It was stated in recent correspondence from the Surveyor that the excess was expected to be paid by myself, to which Nicola made a number of calls and followed up with some e-mails to confirm that this was not the case and that the block management company would have to pay this.
This was agreed by the block management company today, and brought a strange and personally difficult situation to a close. The required works may now proceed at my property sometime in January 2011. All this would not have happened if it wasn’t for Nicola, in the main, and Andrew.
I would like to pass on my sincere thanks and appreciation to you and your team, the dedication shown by your staff is an accolade to how going the extra mile results in such a positive outcome.

I would like to take this opportunity to say how pleased I was with the service I received from Holly Pendred from the Ruislip office.
We moved into Flat 8 in the Thomas More Building in June of this year. She was extremely helpful from the first time we saw the flat up until the move in date. Even when we had small problems after our move in, she made us feel like we were top of the list.
As this was my first move I was a bit apprehensive but Holly was very reassuring. We moved in on the Sunday and when we got to the office she was there by herself and she waited for us as we were running late which meant she was there after the normal closing time.
The overall experience was very enjoyable and I hope you will pass on our thanks and appreciation to Holly.

I’m now settled into my apartment in Bell View and wanted to drop you a note. I had visited every real estate agent on the Ruislip High Street and in the surrounding streets to find new rental accommodation and you are the most professional and friendly person to deal with by a mile.
I’m sure you are a very busy person and yet I always felt like I was your number one priority and you always responded to my many questions and queries immediately. I just wanted to drop you a quick line with regard to the rental of my property.
I had used another firm in the past and saw no reason not to use them again this time as the service was acceptable. However, as the time was nearing that I needed my property let by I decided to bring on board another agent. I called Gibbs Gillespie in Pinner and left a message for an agent to call me back. Within 30 minutes Matthew Marchant called. He arranged a meeting for that afternoon to come and view my property. Already I was impressed!
Matthew came along and discussed all that needed to be done and from the beginning I found him very professional. I was filled with confidence that he would have no problem letting my property. Since then he has had a stream of potential candidates and we have now found a suitable couple to rent. Each time he showed someone around I received feedback almost immediately so I was never left wondering. He has made this whole stressful process very easy indeed, hence I wanted to write this email. I will be recommending Matthew and Gibbs Gillespie to any of my friends that may decide to rent their property, and indeed should I need to use an estate agent again it would definitely be yourselves I would choose.
